Carpeting London: do we know enough?

From the beautiful Hanging Gardens of Babylon constructed over 2500 years ago to waterproofing temporary houses as American colonists moved across the Great Plains in the 18th Century – green rooftops are not a new idea.

In modern times however, they have a new task – tackling the effects of climate change in our cities but some scientists are asking – do we know enough about the biodiversity of these systems?

I caught up with a few of those working in the area – Dusty Gedge and Dr Alan Gange  – plus I clamber up onto a green rooftop to find out more.
